In August, the French Riviera belongs to the crowds. In September, anchored off Cap Ferrat with 30 metres of superyacht between you and the world, it belongs to you. We chartered for ten days at the end of last summer.
The superyacht anchors off Beaulieu-sur-Mer at 7am, and by 8am the deck is set for breakfast: white linens, fresh croissants brought by tender from the bakery in the village below, a pot of coffee, the sound of the sea. The Promenade des Anglais is 20 minutes by road. From here, it is entirely invisible.
The Itinerary
A ten-day Riviera charter moves between Monaco (for the casino and Louis XV restaurant), Cap Ferrat (for Paloma Beach and the Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild gardens), Antibes (for the Picasso Museum and the market), Cannes (for the Croisette and Le Cloître restaurant), and the Iles de Lérins (for swimming off the boat in total solitude).
“The Riviera in September costs 30% less than August, has 40% fewer boats in the anchorages, and the water is warmer. There is no argument for August.”
